Folks, it's high time I put down that shovel and start blogging again. Our record snowfall this winter has finally started to melt, and I see the light at the end of the tunnel - spring!
This is the time of year many of you see cherry and dogwood trees begin to blossom. It's not happening here yet (no surprise), but that won't stop me from enjoying the look of them.
I found this great tutorial on Pinterest on how to make paper flowers for branches.
You can find it here. Of course I had plenty of fallen branches strewn across our yard after so many blizzards this winter. I used a 2-inch paper punch, white and pink tissue paper, and some hot glue.
Here's the result:
I love how they turned out and would have made more flowers, if it weren't for a bit of struggle with my pink tissue paper getting stuck in my paper punch. :)
I did manage to pick up some real flowers at the grocery store this winter to cheer our dining room buffet as well:
And these faux roses were a steal at the thrift store - I think they look realistic, do you?
Spring is in the air...I just know it!

I LOVE this idea & might give it a try myself! The snow is melting here and the birds are returning.
Happy Spring!

Super cute Susan. Very creative and pretty. You go girl.
Yep hoping all this melted snow is the end now even for us in the midwest. Looking forward to Spring.

I love those roses Susan! They do look real! I love your sweet branches! They are so pretty.
I have been working on some branches for Easter, but haven't got very far, because I keep wanting to go out and play in the garden. We have had a record breaking early spring here and I am already behind the weeds :)
sending hugs....
So glad to hear that you're finally thawing out, Susan! Your cherry blossoms are so pretty. I can imagine that the tissue paper really gets stuck in the punch! And I love snapdragons, they are so cheery. Who would guess those roses are faux? I thought the must be real:) Have a great day!
Love the idea of the sweet little pink paper flowers.
I'm sure you're so ready for spring after the epic amount of snow you had this winter.

Spring feel far away from us also since we just received another six inches of the wet, heavy snow overnight. grrr.

The flowers are gorgeous! When I'm brave, I might give them a try! :-)
