Clean Slate

As I write this post it is -2 degrees outside.  Well, at least there's not a blizzard to go with it!
Now that the Christmas decorations are gone, the house is looking bare.  I left a few flocked pine cones around, but little else.  It's nice to start with a clean slate.
The kitchen had lots of red going on during Christmas season, but now it's back to the blues...

The pine cones add a nice rustic touch ....

Our fireplace has been pared down and now it's showcasing winter whites:

I just couldn't take the adorable white house off the mantel after Christmas:

This milk crate is one of my all time favorite flea market finds and I plan to feature it a lot this year!

Linens are stacked and fresh flowers from the market cheer this corner:

These cold hands of mine will be busy...knitting some arm warmers...

I hope you stay warm and creative these days!

Your decor is gorgeous! I love that you left some of the pinecones out and I am crazy about that window propped up covering the fireplace screen, so pretty like that!

VERY cold here too. Not that cold, I don't think. I love that milk crate. I'm a real sucker for anything that looks like a box!

Happy New Year! Thank You for coming by for a Blog Visit and leaving such Encouraging Sweet Words. Starting the New Year with a Clean Slate is indeed Exciting isn't it? Though I could probably do it any time throughout the year, for some reason January 1st just seems to make everything brand new and Fresh so I always want to make more Changes around the Season when a New Year is ushered in. It helps that for us here in the Desert, this is the time of year when the weather seems Perfect for everything we want and need to do inside and outside.

Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian

Just learned we are neighbors after reading you in "Artful Blogging"! Always love your blog; so clean but cozy.
Love the idea of leaving house on your mantel. I do the same thing I'm just not ready to part with some decorations yet. Amy

I'm so behind on packing up my holiday stuff. I just can't seem to get myself motivated to dig out the boxes.

Looking at your pretty photos is a big help though to be sure.
