Grey and cream are now my two favorite color combinations, and it's showing in my home and crafts. These creamy soft roses look lovely in the grey galvanized bucket on our dining table. My husband came home with these roses for me...just because. I love that romantic guy!
They give a soft pop of color in our mostly white dining room...
Speaking of romance...I couldn't help making Christmas ornaments to remind us of our trip to Paris this year, and of course they're grey and cream!
The Christmas crafting is in full force these days. Here's an easy idea - attach tinsel to a paper box to turn it into a Christmas drum. I found this cream fabric box for $1 at the thrift store, and simply hot-glued tinsel to it:
Keeping the grey and cream theme going...I glittered some chipboard stars with a creamy gold glitter and attached them to vintage seam binding I dyed grey. Love this Christmas garland look!
My recent Santos cage doll creation got a star garland, too:
Here's another easy Christmas craft idea. Tear about 16 pages from a vintage book (I used an old German book) and scroll each page for a book wreath. I attached my scrolls to a scrunched-up coffee filter on the back. After attaching a Dresden Santa image to the center, I'm now going to use this book wreath as a star on top one of my trees.
One last thing to share...a new listing in my Etsy shop for a grey linen stocking, embellished with vintage trim:
Happy crafting my friends!
I'll be sharing my grey and cream tresors over at Michelle's Grey Dey Thursdey, as well as these fun parties:

Flea Market Finds
Last month I visited our nearby outdoor flea market for the last time this season (sniff sniff). The warm weather days always fly by, and next thing you know the outdoor flea is closed. I wanted to share with you some of the loot, as well as recent thrift store finds. It's always fun to show the treasures before I end up transforming some of them...
Here is a gorgeous old platter, Blessed Mother statue and blue floral rimmed pitcher.
I love the monogram on this vintage tablecloth, as well as the crochet-edged sheet:
This sweet little birdcage was only 50 cents:
It came with this bright floral piece attached, which I promptly removed:
The floral piece got a coat of warm white paint:
My favorite find that day was this vintage doll. I didn't love her yellow dress, though...
...so I decided to dye it grey!
I'll be sure to share this pretty grey lady at Michelle's Grey Dey Thursdey:
Now I do believe her attire goes much better with her eyes. :)
She's attached to a curious bottom:
It's from 1960 - of course, you can tell that from the retro fabric on the bottom, huh?
I may transform her into a Santos cage doll (like this project), but we'll have to see...
Here are some recent finds from my local thrift store, too. A paper mache reindeer (I'm not crazy about the garland strung across him, so I'll find a separate use for that later):
Lastly, a metal hardware piece that looked like it came from a sconce or some lighting fixture(?) I love its' curves:
Thanks for letting me share these finds with you. It's like I'm bringing you all along for the thrill of the hunt!
