A Very Good Day at the Flea

Spring is here - finally!  Our trees are blossoming, the flowers are sprouting, and I was able to enjoy a glorious morning Sunday at the local flea market.  The weather was perfect - comfortable temperatures and sun shining on the crowds that packed the fields.

Just look at what I found....

I fell in love with the soft blue and cream colors on this vintage jewelry box, as well as on this old wooden cigar box.  I can't wait to use the vintage lace trim on my creations.

The inside of the cigar box:

I loved the pretty lace trim and monograms on this tablecloth and napkin set.  The 1846 German book was a great find, too.

The book's aged pages and script are perfect:

The design on this vintage colored pencil box is just lovely.  It rests on some hand-made crochet pieces I found as well...

Lastly, here was a great score - an old wooden tool caddy found in a barn.  I know it will be put to good use for entertaining and such.  Great patina!

Although I was trying mainly to shop for my Etsy store, I plan on holding on to some of these treasures (for now....).

But I do have a bunch of fabulous vintage horse show ribbons to be listed very soon!  Here's a peek at some sets of 3 I will have available.  They're all from the 1960's and 1970's:

Have a great spring week my friends, and here's hoping your days at the Flea Markets are just as fun!

Nice ribbons. I have a few also, we live in Illinois (horse country around here) so I've collected a few. That tool caddy, WOW! Great finds!

Oh oh OH! How did you read my mind?! The HORSE RIBBONS!!!

My daughter LOVES horses. The dolls in the doll house have been evicted and its full of ponies. On spring break she went to 'horse camp' to learn to ride and care for horses and they gave her an old ribbon like this and we've got it on her lamp in her room. I was just thinking how neat it would be to get some more of those to decorate her room with. Please let me know what you're wanting for them! I know a horse lovin girl who'd be so in love with them... :D

Oh my! What wonderful finds! So jealous. Love the book and the old ribbons. I'm so itching to go thrifting here but the weather hasn't been all that cooperative (in NY).

Looks like you hit the jackpot, not only for your customers, but for you as well! That's the best way! :-)

I love your finds, and those pastel ribbons are SO pretty. I would think some collector will sntach those up right away.

Love your tool box. You are so right... that will be great for tablescapes. Love it!

I popped over from Becky's blog party. She has been a friend of mine in real life for a number of years, and I thought it was high time to join her party! I've enjoyed seeing what everyone has to offer. My palette tends to be more colorful, but I also have a deep love for whites.
It's been fun seeing them all!

XO,

Sheila

I love, well, everything! I do not think I could choose a favorite except I am partial to the tool caddy. The vintage horse show ribbons are very collectible around here.
