I recently painted this patio table set white (it was previously black). It will look more aged after leaving it out a few seasons. Here it is with a summer table setting.
The basket and grain sack (used as a runner) are flea market finds from this past weekend:
This shelf was one of two I also scored at the flea market. I wasn't sure I wanted this one, as it is dark, but my silent decision-making prompted the vendor to keep lowering the price for both. Isn't it funny how sometimes just being silent will get you a better deal? (He said I had a poker face, when really I was just trying to figure out what to do with the shelves).
The shelf is currently attached to our fence, but I'm not sure I love it here. This rusty old plant stand (center) and watering can (on the top shelf left) were from the same flea market:
Last year, our children and I surprised my husband with a hammock for Father's Day. He likes to take well-earned breaks here. It is a restful spot by the hydrangeas:
Here's our wicker chair (found curbside) nestled beside the blooming 'New Dawn' climbing rose bush:
We're blessed to be able to enjoy the outdoors here. With all these whites, I'll be linking with White Wednesday this week. Happy summer!
Also linking to Sandy's summer video to share summer flowers.
What a gorgeous post, Susan! Looks like you came straight out of Romantic Homes magazine:) I am in love with your wire basket and runner. They are oh, so French! And your hydrangeas are just stunning! Lucky you! I've never had any luck growing them. I also really love your wicker, and your now white table and chairs. It is all just so dreamy and romantic!!
Oh so pretty, I love your patio set painted white and you did really well with the flea market!
Your garden is beautiful and so feminine! I would love a hammock, I'm sure I'd spend hours lazing around on it. I love your table and chairs:)
...so lovely...the blue is calling me...
perhaps if you painted your fence shelf a soft blue/gray and then lightly sanding it random areas you would love it there with all your pretties ~
Such pretty places to relax these are! Love your table with the new linens!
There's never anything like that cute chair on the curbs around here--just tree branches that fall during the wind storms! Lucky you. I love the look of the hammock, but am sure I'd fall right out like Lucy and Ethel would! ♥♫
Your hydrangeas are stunning, and the whole space looks so relaxing and inviting. Love it all!
Your garden is truly beautiful!! I would spend all day in that perfect hammock! I'm not sure I could give it up to the hubby. :)
Hope you have a lovely day.
what a cozy place to wile away the hours... love it!
I am imagining my self in that pretty hammock of yours just having a lazy summer day!
Now you know the secret of successful bargaining or selling, make your offer or presentation, then be quiet. The other party will ALWAYS fill in the void of silence. Neat shelf.
Hi Susan...did you get to hit the flea with Michelle? Loving your finds and how they are perfect for your outdoor room! I linked up to Sandy's too...isn't that a great idea?!!
I love that patio set! your garden is gorgeous, love all the white details. And that hammock, oh I'm so envious.
Have a great weekend!
What a beautiful and peaceful place to take a rest! You found that chair curbside?????? It looks like new. Just gorgeous setting!!
It looks gorgeous Susan! Can't believe you found that pretty chair on the curb. Why don't my neighbors ever throw out anything like that????
It's a magic world!
I am delighted beyond words you’ve shared your beauty on summer’s “Vintage Video” on my blog!
