Love (and lavender) is in the air

While we are hunkering down for a major snow blizzard in the Boston area, I'm busy listing these sachets in my Etsy shop.  May as well keep busy!

I had such fun making these unique sachets, because I used fabric from the delightful Cabbages and Roses' Northcote Range line.  This cottage style fabric adorns the 'patches' on the hearts.  Sometimes our hearts do need a little mending, right?

They smell lovely, filled with soothing lavender...

They'd fit right in for Valentine's Day.  I couldn't stop myself with the heart theme, so I also made two cute heart garlands - this time with white cotton and stuffing, and of course the sweet 'patches'!

I have one garland hanging in our living room for now...it may be difficult to sell it.  :)

It all started with these lovely supplies...

Well, if I'm going to be snowed in, may as well be surrounded by pretties.
Stay safe and warm this week, friends!

Tilda book Homemade and Happy

Hello friends,
I've been meaning to share with you a book I got before Christmas.  It's the most recent craft book by Tone Finnanger called:  'Homemade and Happy'.

The images for the book were photographed in Ms. Finnanger's cozy log cabin with her younger sister as the model.  I love the homey feel of it throughout.  The latest fabrics are pale and pretty, yet rustic.
Aren't these pillows scrumptious?

And these miniature hearts look absolutely adorable stacked on the cake rings.

The Tilda books never cease to inspire.  The pretty angel dolls lined up all in a row have the sweetest dresses:

I tackled the job of making three of these for 3 precious newborn nieces we welcomed into our large family last year.  Here are my angels before they 'flew' to their new homes at Christmas:

What are you making these days?  The creative bugs always thrives in January, I think.  :)

Clean Slate

As I write this post it is -2 degrees outside.  Well, at least there's not a blizzard to go with it!
Now that the Christmas decorations are gone, the house is looking bare.  I left a few flocked pine cones around, but little else.  It's nice to start with a clean slate.
The kitchen had lots of red going on during Christmas season, but now it's back to the blues...

The pine cones add a nice rustic touch ....

Our fireplace has been pared down and now it's showcasing winter whites:

I just couldn't take the adorable white house off the mantel after Christmas:

This milk crate is one of my all time favorite flea market finds and I plan to feature it a lot this year!

Linens are stacked and fresh flowers from the market cheer this corner:

These cold hands of mine will be busy...knitting some arm warmers...

I hope you stay warm and creative these days!
