At the Flea

I just spent a lovely morning with my dear friend Michelle (of Petite Michelle Louise).  If you've read this blog for a while, you know we love to meet and scout out tresors at nearby flea markets and thrift stores and of course THE event of the year - At Home with White
Today was a gorgeous day and the flea market offered lots of vendors and smiles.
Here's what I found 'AT THE FLEA'...

A pretty vintage white apron, old scrabble letters and sheet music:

The titles of the sheet music resonated with me.  During Lent the cantor at our church sang an achingly beautiful rendition of 'Abide with Me'.  'Ave Maria' always brings tears, and I couldn't resist 'Dear Little Boy of Mine' for my own dear boy.

These letters will be used for crafting...

Sewing treasures are always hard to pass up at the flea market.  I can't imagine the work that went into this vintage beaded embroidery piece...

Such intricate detail...the result of much patient work...

Along with that beautiful piece, this trim was a terrific find:

It is a soothing gray color with vintage wear:

Michelle and I are sharing this trim because there was so much of it!
Here we are at the end of our morning, all smiles:
(Michelle, me)

We laughed as we also surprised each other with unique finds found in our travels.  I knew Michelle would appreciate a one-of-a-kind pink chippy doorknob I found at my local thrift store, and she knew I would love this old tarnished creamer etched with an 'S':

It's sitting prominently on top of my dining room shelves:

Thank you Michelle - I had a wonderful morning with you!

I think there are enough 'white-ish' finds in this post to share over at White Wednesday this week and plenty of vintage finds to share at Vintage Inspiration Friday.  Hope to see you at these parties!

Beautiful finds. I recently found an old Scrabble game at a yard sale, complete with letters. The sheet music is wonderful. Looks like you and your friend had a great time.

I don't watch TV, but something I saw during the Olympics was someone singing "Abide with Me". It was a beautiful piece to listen to. I looked in one of my hymn books and found it, but your piece would be ever so much better! Lucky you!♥♫

Wonderful treasures at the flea. I think we have had our last flea market this year, although I can't complain we have at least 10 Salvation Army stores and I usually do better there. Have a great weekend.

Oh! What gorgeous, gorgeous finds! Love all that you two scavenged. That pitcher with the S is wonderful--- especially since my last name is an "S" too.
Looks like you're having a great time! I know you'll have a lovely autumn up there in New England!~
