Most of all I pray for our leaders to be great by being humble. The virtue of humility is sorely lacking in leadership today, as well as in much of our culture.
The happiest people on earth have been the Saints, who were the most humble. They have also been the most courageous. It is a mistake to confuse humility with weakness.
I have faith in the Saints of yesterday, today and tomorrow, following the truth that is Jesus.

It's going to be a tough next 4 years. I could choose to lament all that is lost and stay in my funk, or I could take more action, get more involved and become a happy warrior for Truth. I'll continue to pray for guidance and for this country and its' children most of all.

A beautiful post Susan. I was so sad also to know we have 4 more years to get through of a downhill journey. I worry and feel sad for my kids:( My oldest son will be 27 before we see a new president. Coming from So Cal, the decline there over the past 4 years has been shocking and sad. Kids can't get into any community college classes, teachers are being laid off left and right, furlough days are forced on both teachers and students, gangs are taking over some of what used to be the nicest Orange County neighbors...it's a welfare state and it makes me sad:( We left but my boys, who are all now young men, chose to stay so I worry for them and I worry that what's happening in So Cal will bleed to all the other states. But, we will prevail! If there's anything this wonderful country of ours does well, it's prevail!
I understand what you are saying but let's not forget it was the previous eight years before this president that got us into this mess!
It's been a stressful time, and a lot of folks are in a funk. But I appreciate your positive message. We all have to keep doing our best.
I'm sorry to hear you are hurting, but glad you are finding solace in your faith. God rarely makes us grow in 'comfortable' situations. Its the times that test us that usually make us better people. Take heart and have faith!
Susan, I could not agree more!! I am so happy you did this post!! I am so worried about our country :( It is scary!! Thank you so much for having the courage to post this!! Beautifully said!
Big hugs,
Amy
I was very disappointed as well, but I am choosing to find the good in each and every day... or at least try to. :) This didn't take God by surprise! Hang in there.
Hugs~
Amen! Thank you for sharing this! You couldn't have said it any better!
Blessisngs,
Janet
Thank you <3
I too think the nation is heading the wrong way but I don't know if you have seen or heard about the groups of people (all races) celebrating Obama's reelection and chanting, "death to Israel" and "save Pakistan". I am more than appalled!
I have never been a very political person Susan. I am not apathetic as much as I am trusting that God has a plan and nothing will stop His plan from going forth.
I have lived a long time and have seen many presidents come and many go. I feel that I cannot put my trust in just one man to lead this country, but I can trust that the Lord will continue to give us hope and that I can do more to make the lives of those around me better.
sending hugs...
Amen sister, Amen!
Thank you for your honest and heartfelt post, Susan. I feel the same way. After the election results, I am focusing now more than ever that Jesus is on the throne. Our state legalized same sex marriage and marijuana. How heartbreaking is that?
Blessings to you,
Wendy
