Tilda Delights and Merry Christmas!

Dear friends, this will be my last post before Christmas and I wanted to wish you all a blessed, holy and happy Christmas.  Rejoice!

This time of year often evokes fond memories of our own childhood Christmases, sprinkled with beloved toys and fairy tales cherished for many years.  I thought I'd share with you my 'Tilda Corner', where I try to recreate that magical feeling.  The toy soldier and pretty ballerina were made using patterns from Tone Finnanger's "Tilda's Fairy Tale Wonderland" book.

They preside over a winter wonderland in this corner of our living room...

The Tilda wire tree is decorated with pretty Tilda boxes and papers, as well as some new Father Christmas figures...

Animals add to the whimsical scene...

I just finished two more projects from that book today, made especially for a sweet little girl in the family.  The deer hasn't received his antlers just yet, and the ballerina needs a headpiece, but the majority of the work is done - just in time for Christmas!

Not long ago I purchased the latest book by Tone Finnanger, called Tilda's Winter Delights.

The first project I tried were these cute Father Christmas figures:

Here's how they turned out:

I'm looking forward to working on more projects from this book...

(Aren't these chalet girls the cutest?  Can't wait to try making them)

Have a wonderful Christmas friends!  Here's hoping you have fun crafting this winter, too.

Beautiful Creations by Friends

I simply have to share the beauty of creations by two talented blogging friends.  This wonderful package arrived in the mail recently from Donna of My Shabby Chateau.  Look what was inside...

Handmade bead ornaments - oh so pretty in beautiful blues, and look at the pretty wrapping!

Divinely inspired handmade cards...

...and this adorable bird tag.  Donna is the Queen of glitter projects!

Thank you Donna - these are amazing!

And if you haven't visited Rhonda's amazing Etsy store and blog "A Little Bit French", you are in for a treat. I did some Xmas shopping there recently.   Her hands work magic with these wonderful religious images...

And everything she touches is oh so French!

Thank you Rhonda - I'm in love with all your creations!

2013 Tour - Kitchen and Master

Well, I'm wrapping up the tour of our Christmas home this year with the kitchen and Master.  Rustic greys, blues and neutrals rule these spaces...

Our Master is very cozy and comfortable this time of year...

we even added a real tree in the corner.

The duvet cover and curtains were recently made from canvas drop cloths:

I added crochet stars to my bureau mirror for a festive look:

A vase etched with 'PARIS' holds faux snow, an Eiffel tower from Paris, and a hand-stamped vintage music sheet with our wedding anniversary (9/13).  I thought it was a nice way to commemorate our 2nd honeymoon in Paris this past fall, celebrating our 10 year anniversary.

The bureau also shows a reflection of my mini (and I mean MINI) studio/creativity area:

I don't think I've yet shown this re-furbished chest in the corner to you:

It was in our garage with a yellow-ish paint for many years, saved from the days when I lived in a condo.  Recently I painted it and added these labels to each drawer.  It's great for storage!

I think I've got one more Christmas post to do...sharing some Tilda delights.  Stay tuned and have a very Merry Christmas season!

2013 Tour - Nordic Christmas Dining Room

Hello fellow merry makers!  Thanks for visiting our living room in my previous post.  The tour continues in our simple white and green dining room, with touches of grey/silver sparkle....

I kept the color scheme simple in here.  And for details,  I went nuts over grey/blue seam binding this year.  It's used everywhere in this room!   Welcome....

A friendly reindeer greets you from the table:

At the window is a simple green tree with candles in vintage clips and my handmade book wreath as its' star:
(I will not light these - too risky!)

Two shutters showcase glittered stars..

Another view from the kitchen:

I love how the buffet looks with silver candle holders and greenery:

The mirror reflects our corner cabinet.  I decided to warm up the cabinet this year with vintage books and a painted 'White Christmas' sign made from reclaimed wood:

Pretty ornaments rest on the white chair in the front of the room:

I couldn't resist making some cones with touches of grey after seeing some in the November issue of Jeanne D'Arc Living magazine:

Our Advent candles get lit each Sunday evening:

In the back of the room, a white bookshelf gets the Christmas treatment:

The table is set with simple greenery and stars...

Ornaments sparkle overhead...

Hope you enjoyed the tour.  Cheers to a very merry Christmas!
