PARIS - Part 2

Hello again friends!  Thank you so much for your kind response to my previous post about the local Vintage Bazaar.  Oh how I wish all you gals could have been there in person.  You are so supportive!

Today I wanted to share the remaining photos of the trip to Paris that my husband and I enjoyed last month.  You can see the first batch of photos here.  Now that we're 'back to reality', this trip seems like ages ago.  But oh....I look at these photos and it brings it all back...the essence of that beautiful, romantic city.

Next is a beautiful building's facade near the tower.  These type of buildings are everywhere.  On our honeymoon 10 years ago, we got home to discover that I had taken tons of photos of balconies!  You just can't help yourself to look up and sigh...I tried to take just one photo on this trip:

After visiting the Eiffel tower, we walked over to the Rodin museum.  You may know Auguste Rodin's sculpture of 'the thinker':

The museum of his pieces is located at the most gorgeous mansion:

We capped off that day with wine on our balcony.  Ahh.....so relaxing to take it all in:

Our last morning (a bit melancholy for sure) was spent strolling down the Champs Elysees.  Can't miss the adorable Laduree shop:

Vintage Bazaar - Our Booth!

Well, Michelle and I did it.  Phew!  We presented our first ever booth at the Vintage Bazaar, held on Pettengill Farm, Salisbury, MA this past weekend.
Let me just tell you, we both have a HUGE new-found appreciation for all the hard work that vendors put into a show.  Our bodies ached, we were tired, but there were big smiles on our faces at the end of both days.  What fun we had.
Without further adieu, here are some photos of our tent space.  The first group are from Saturday, which turned out to be a crazy-busy day.  Since Sunday was quieter, I was able to take more photos that day - especially from afar with no one inside.  You can tell we went with a white/cream background and lots of  pops of grey.  I'll pipe in with some comments, but will let the photos do most of the talking.

We want to send a big THANK YOU out to our husbands and families for all their help, as well as terrific friends that came out to support us.  Devon did a wonderful job of organizing the whole event, which drew in such a crowd.
Thanks also to the lovely customers that visited our booth with their smiles and enthusiasm.  I didn't catch a photo of Mary Ellen and Karen, from the Wrentham Country Store, who each visited and supported us. Thank you ladies!  Your 'At Home with White' event was truly an inspiration for us.

PARIS! Part 1

My husband and I just returned from a fabulous trip to Paris.  We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in that romantic city where we honeymooned.  Gosh, was it was wonderful to be back in that beautiful place where we began our marriage!

Here I am almost fresh off the plane...it was sunny that day, and we forced ourselves to walk around and take in the glorious sights despite not sleeping on the plane.

Okay ladies, hold on to your hats.  THIS was the view from our hotel balcony on the Rue de Rivoli!

The following day after we arrived was a bit cloudy, but that didn't matter at all.  Clouds, rain...everything is glorious in Paris!

It was chilly in Paris.  I needed this scarf!

The city was celebrating the 850th anniversary of the Notre Dame cathedral.  We were able to take this photo from a stadium-type platform that was erected in front:

There's an unfortunate trend going on with the Paris bridges.  Lovers write their names on a padlock, chain it to a bridge and throw the key into the Seine.  It is a romantic gesture, but oh those locks are an eyesore compared to the beauty that surrounds!  We wished the friendly Parisians taking our photo would have cropped that part out.  Oh well...C'est la vie!

It rained this day, so it was a perfect time to stroll around the Cluny museum.  It contains the most wonderful Catholic art from the middle ages.  Here is a small screen sculpted in ivory:

After visiting the museum, we had a late lunch here at this delightful brasserie on the Isle of St. Louis:

The wet pavement makes Paris even more romantic, don't you think?  Here is the Hotel de Ville:

The following day I dragged my husband to a weekday flea market in the Bastille area.  I'm sure the weekend markets are much better, but this was quite a treat!  Unfortunately a rain shower forced some vendors to pack up early, but I got a few finds.  Can't wipe that smile off my face!

The Parisians really do know how to display flowers at a shop...

Some friendly Americans took our photo at the Tuileries gardens.  Our hotel was up off to the left, over my husband's right shoulder.  I still can't get over our view of these gardens below!
