Spring in the Air

New England is enjoying unseasonably warm weather and I'm loving it!  Thanks to tips from Shanon at Vintage Sparkle Chic, I was able to successfully force forsythias indoors.  The blooms look beautiful in our living room, and I'm not usually a big fan of yellow.

As I'm still infatuated with all things from Tilda's World, I couldn't resist purchasing this wire tree from the product line.  It is meant for Christmas, but why  not attach some pretty spring papers to enjoy now?

I cut egg-shapes out of wallpaper, and added other tags I had on hand:

It's now presiding on this corner desk in the living room:

The gold mirror frame from the White Elephant trip got a coat of white paint, and looks pretty leaning here:

Some of the other White Elephant treasures are displayed in this room now, too:
(white post)

(tattered books)

Some whites and snapdragons on the mantel...

My daughter picked out some bright fuschia carnations at the grocery store - not a color I would usually turn to, but I love how they brighten up this shelf for spring!

Hope you are all enjoying some warm spring weather and blooms, too!

  1. We're loving this weather, too! I'm not a huge yellow fan either, but this time of year I am because it means daffodils and forsythia and Spring! ;) I took a walk to the beach today... I hope to get to a "spring beach walk" post later this evening. Happy Lovely and WARM New England day to you! ;)

  2. oh Susan it is all so amazing!
I adore carnations no matter the color.
Yes we are having unseasonably high temps today as well.
Feels good but it soon will get old and I will want the cool weather back.
No turning back until late November now :(

  19. Everything is so beautiful!!! I personally love yellow, I think it's an under rated color and it's always been one of my dreams to have a blue, yellow and white room:)

Do you allowed your photo's to be pinned on Pinterest? I know some bloggers don't like it so I don't want to pin anything w/o asking you first!

  23. Susan,
Thank you for the wonderful comments you sent my way. I'm sorry I haven't been more communicative but this has been a huge year of transition for me. That being said, 2012 is a year of promise and renewal for me and I'm sooo looking forward to it. I've been keeping up with your blog and adventures and I'm so impressed with your kitchen post (the last one. It's filled with so much charm and personality...I love it! I can't wait to see you at the White Event. Are you and Michelle coming on Saturday or Sunday? Make sure you come looking for me. I'm not set up in the tent this year, since I have too much going on with the sale of the home, brand new job, etc but we are carrying the white theme into the shop as well, so I'll be whitening up my space. I think I'm scheduled to work indoors both days...so please come and find me. It'll be soo great to see you again, now that I feel like I know you better. Two weeks away...can't wait. I may have a little surprise for you too...
    Blessings & hugs,
    Karen
